Yosef Karo 14, Jerusalem

Yosef Karo 14 is a residential building in Beit Yisrael, the Haredi quarter just north of Mea Shearim in central Jerusalem, and plan 101-1348044 sets its programme at 10 homes. The Jerusalem District Planning Committee approved the plan on 5 July 2026, and it came into force with its publication in the official gazette on 9 July 2026. The plan states three purposes: enlarging the existing homes, adding new housing units and creating a diyurit, the small self-contained unit Israeli planning allows alongside a family apartment.

The plan covers block 30091, parcel 27, and operates within two earlier Jerusalem schemes, local plan 5022A and plan 5166/B. Its approved elevations and sections show a compact building rising to an attic level under steep pitched roofs, with a basement below street level, set between the neighbouring houses of a narrow residential street.

Beit Yisrael is one of the neighbourhoods Jerusalem built outside the Old City walls in the late nineteenth century, and daily life here runs on foot. Mea Shearim and Shmuel HaNavi Street are 5 minutes away, Bar Ilan Street a similar distance, and Malkhei Yisrael Street with Kikar HaShabbat about 8 minutes. Ammunition Hill is a 10 minute walk, while Damascus Gate and Mahane Yehuda Market each lie about 1.3 km from the building.

The project is at the planning stage. Counted on the standard Israeli sequence from the plan's entry into force on 9 July 2026, the appeal period closes around October 2026, works start around November 2026 and handover falls around July 2028. These milestones are calculated, because no developer has published a schedule for the address. No sales site, price list or apartment mix has been released yet, and they will be added here as soon as they appear.
